How far will we extend ourselves to relate to one another and how can we combine our individual needs and those of others are questions Keep The Shirt investigates. Using stretchy fabric, the interpreters playfully exaggerate their elongated limbs to aid their narrative. We watch as the movers come together to form creature-like entities while simultaneously working through pedestrian movements. Showing how socially we have the ability to form deep and compelling connections, and an equal tendency to ignore and release ourselves. Keep The Shirt invites viewers to witness how our relationships to one another can go beyond physical touch and transform how we come together. Using material as a placeholder for how our physical capabilities can be extended, exaggerated, and bring us further yet closer together.
