Parties

‘Parties’ is a duet between two interpreters that transforms into an unceasing struggle of self-sabotage that propels the viewer into a psychedelic dreamlike reality. The movement is accompanied by a soundscape that further encompasses the viewer into a dazed, repetitive, echo of celebration, gathering, and intoxication. The performer’s each translate a version of the same self, one of sound mind whose anxieties create an eternal battle of shame and unfulfillment. The other is a self-sabotaging individual whose desire slowly overcomes that of the sound mind. Though the piece is performed by two individuals they highlight the internal struggle we as a collective often hold deep within ourselves.
